WEEK 5 - Theme Learning about the Census

Census 2020 --- What is this?  Have you heard talk about this on the news or t.v.?  Why is the census important and how often does it happen?  Let's learn this week.  Start asking your parents.  See CLP - packet or online.

SPELLING WORDS:  1.  census     2. population      3.communities   4. housing   5. coyote   6. exhausted 7. truthfully         8. information  9.  persuade  10.entertain 

Challenge:  distribute,  continuous,  product and factors, vital

1.  Write each word 3x       2.  Define each word without a dictionary, ask an adult, then look it up   3.  Write a sentence using each word correctly   4. Draw two of those sentences.

Writing:  Journals - keep your journal going everyday or everyother day about what is going on in your day, the city, the world.  Add to that writing about the books you are reading and the passages you are reading in CLP.             

Journal topics:  What are you excited most about  with going to middle school?  What are you excited least about?  Make new friends, how will you make a new friend at your middle school?  What do you want another student to get to know about you?                                                                                          Persuade:  Write from CLP week 5 - Should students be required to wear school uniforms?  Write for or against and persuade the listener to understand your point.

Math:  Play some Math War with the playing cards.  Make flashcards.  Give yourself a timed test, write out all the multiplication answers for X6, x7, x8 in a minute.

Social Studies - CLP Census across the United States

Science - Research the difference between a cell phone and a Satelite Phone...............Ahh ha!  yes there is a difference. (Wave lengths????)
